Grimsby Fish
Merchants' Association
Although merchants began to work together in the period 1870 to 1900, the official formation of the Grimsby Fish Merchants' Association Limited took place in April 1911. Since that time the interests of merchants and processors have been the fundamental aim of the Association in blending together the various major sections of the industry in the vital role of providing the consumer with quality suppliers of many species of fish, both fresh and frozen.
Connection and representations with Associated British Ports, Local & Notional Government and in more recent years, the Economic Union/Brussels have, and continue to be, essential factors in securing a solid future for the membership and the Port of Grimsby.
The Association currently has approximately 100 members and a strong Board of Directors who are all very much involved with the modernised landing and auction facilities in the port.
The Association is extremely keen to assist wherever possible in promoting and encouraging supplies and sales of fish to and from Grimsby.
